When our Director Finance, HR, IT, QM Marcus Antonius Fazio moved to Brunnen, located at the beautiful Lake Lucerne in the Canton of Schwyz, he met one of the most outstanding personalities of the local community: Pascal Marty. It didn’t take long and the two became friends, which is why Marcus also got to know Pascal’s father Heinz.

Black Nessi & FrymaKoruma – the story of a friendship

“As Pascal and Heinz are passionate sailors – not only on lakes but also in the offshore area – and Heinz runs a sailing school, sailing has often been on the agenda. Pascal has aroused my enthusiasm for the world-famous Volvo Ocean Race (VOR); certainly one of the hardest and most exciting regattas worldwide. We shared the idea of starting with an own team at VOR. Shortly afterwards, we founded the club Nessi Ocean Racing Team (NORT), developed a logo and have successfully approached the organizing committee of VOR. While creating an annual plan, we also started sounding out possibilities of sponsoring. However, due to the global economy crisis in 2009, it was utterly impossible to receive the necessary funds.

We put our sponsoring plans on the back burner and focused on our activities on the lakes – particularly the Central Switzerland Championship on Lake Lucerne. For successful participation in the regatta, we arranged, what had been necessary to successfully increase the club’s liquidity. As a result, the team had been able to win also FrymaKoruma as a partner.

FrymaKoruma is proud to have taken this step, having established the cooperation of two success-driven teams. For us, it is a great engagement that reflects the values and direction of the company: Teamwork, cooperation, creativity, commitment, willingness to act as well as integrity and the absolute will to be successful – everything Nessi Ocean Racing Team stands for.
